DoA 4 Guide: Lisa

Posted by: -Radical-

The female Dead or Alive 4 player: Sophie "Miss" Brenton sits down to give a guide to using one of her favorite characters in the game being Lisa. This is your perfect opportunity to learn how to play with the lucha libre fighting style that Lisa uses.

Sophie breaks down the players skills into a set of categories, giving you some useful tips on how to use Lisa. You can read this guide below. If you have any questions regarding the character feel free to ask in the comments and Sophie will be more than happy to answer them to the best of her knowledge.

Introduction:

The character known as Lisa was first introduced into the series in Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball. The 20 year old American female wrestler's game play is thought to be a mix between Tina and Zack because of her powerful throws and quick kicking action.

When her kicks are aimed at the middle and lower region of the body they are very effective against her opponent, along with counter abilities are those that could almost match Baymans in power. Though she isn't a character advised for beginners, with her being very difficult to learn to the best of her abilities.

The Basics:

The basic moves controls for using Lisa are as simple as all the other characters with P being punch, K is kick, and F is free being to hold or to guard.

For Lisa, it works just like a game of paper, rock, scissors where each thing can beat something else (as shown in the diagram to the right). The blow will beat the throw, the throw beats the hold, and the hold beats the blow.

When used correctly, you can counter your opponent and take quite alot of damage from them, with just a few moves. For those who don't know the damage system for Lisa it works like this: a normal hit will do the average damage (lets say 100%), a Counter attack will do the same as a normal but with 25% more damage (125%), while doing a Hi-Counter will result in a normal hit, plus an additional 50% more damage (150%).

Strategies to use for Lisa:

Best Moves:
- Down back P, her best move it’s tech crouch (dodge high attack) it has a good range and stun on a counter hit.
- Down back K, good move tech crouch, low attack and stun on neutral hit
- Back K+F her best middle attack can crush many moves in the game

Throw:
- Up, p+f a throw which is a catch grab (catch blow) and has a good range.
- The déjà vu is her best damaging throw when your opponent tries an hold (back, down back, down, down, forward, forward p+f, back, forward p+f, 360° p+f)

Tactical Situation:
1/:
Down K,F,down K, after this you have priority and can do :
Formard p (middle punch attack)
Forward k (middle kick attack)
Forward, forward P (high attack who have a follow up with a mix up mid/low)

2/:
Up forward K :
After, you can do p+k which is guard crush and hold resistant
Up p+f which is catch grab

Combos:
There are not many application launchers with Lisa because they are not really fast so most of the time you will do in juggle back Pkk after back turned back punch and some time do a full critical and you can do p+f in air or if there is not wall back pk,f,forward kk
