Red - "On Paper both teams look even"
With it new being a few weeks since the new Stockholm Magnetik franchise returned back to their homes, we catch up with the player selected as the Franchise player for the team; Louis "
Red" Nyberg. A year ago, Louis made a shocking announcement to many people in the gaming community that he would make the switch from Counter-Strike 1.6 to Counter-Strike: Source. From here he joined the Swedish organisation EYEBallers, where later that year in September they would be drafted as the first team to represent Stockholm Magnetik.
Over the past couple of months, Louis has been the captain of the Counter-Strike: Source team leading them into the battle at the World Finals. But now he faces a tough challenge, after the draft he along with his team mates; Fredrik "
Sparkle" Jurek and Erik "
HaZ" Holm gained two new team mates REAL and ferus. He now has only one month to bring this team together to take on the Berlin Allianz for a chance to be the team which represents Europe in the World Finals next month.

How does it feel to be picked as the Franchise Player for Stockholm Magnetik?
It feels great.
In your opinion, what made you stand out the most to get this title in the eyes of the General Manager; Emil Christensen?
I think it was the fact the no-one else stood out, combined with the amount of time and effort I put into the Counter-Strike team.
During your time in Birmingham, you along with 2 other members of the Stockholm Magnetik team played in the CGS combine, where you had an early exit by the hands of Fnatic. What went wrong in your opinion?
Me, Sparkle and Haz had been playing with a variaty of players and finally decided to go with ferus and giftig. We prepared for 1 week which was less then last combine, and things were looking alright I have to say. When it finally came down to play it turned out we werent as prepared as we thought. Fnatic were the better team and won fair and square. I havnt even bothered to analyze what went wrong, I just faced the fact that we got owned, no excuses :(.
When looking at the opposition being Berlin Allianz, they went through a minor change in their team bringing in two Dutch players from Fnatic. How do you feel about this team in regards to your team?
On paper I think the teams are quite even skillwise but I think we have an advantage when it comes to communications. I'm sure they will be among the top teams in europe.
How do you feel about the Stockholm Magnetik franchise as a whole, are you pleased with the changes that were made?
Yeah, I'm quite happy with the team. I just hope everyone performs when we are all on stage.
If you were put in the place of General Manager at the draft would you of done anything different?
Don't think so. As I stated above, I'm very pleased with the team.
With the European Finals being only a couple of weeks away how are you practicing as a team to make sure you get as many points as possible?
We're just gonna make sure we have a great variaty of strategies so we have a gameplan to follow in any situation hopefully that will help us maximize our points.
This Season the European Finals are being held in a recording studio instead of at the Omega Sektor in Birmingham as you know, do you feel this is a bonus to players who are new to the CGS?
Yeah, L.A was great last year and I'm really looking forward to it. Alot of the new players havnt been to L.A so I really think it's like a bonus for them.
What will you be doing different this year to learn from the lessons of last Season?
Don't know really, just practise more I guess.
Its now been a complete year since you made the switch from Counter-Strike 1.6 to Counter-Strike: Source are you still happy that you made that decision?
Absolutely, I would probably have quit gaming all together if it wasnt for Counter-Strike: Source. The 1.6 scene in Sweden is really limited. With only 2 top teams available right now. It would of been really hard to get a spot in either, so I have to say I'm really happy about my switch to Counter-Strike: Source.
Any shoutouts?
